well the northern rivers has pretty much been under water for the first week of the new year! apart from the drearyness of constant rain falling like chinese water torture, and the ensuing mould, the whole thing has been rather beautiful and kinda exciting...
out our frount window, a waterfall appeared and the sound and sight is very calming...and quite spectacular...its a bit like being in the midst of the south american rainforest or something...
another waterfall emerged from the dam overflow and cascades currently down the rockface as you enter the farm. its all very beautiful.
wet, but beautiful. we were flooded in with our little bridge going under for 3 days, and luckily it went down just enough on sat morning for me to do a quick dash to nimbin for food supplies, cos we were down to flour and tinned fruit.now we have food we're pretty set up if it happens again....its meant to start again today - but its actually looking pretty good - and i even think the 9 meter floods in lismore have gone down.
